BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK
This is located in the southwestern part of Uganda it is known as the park that harbors most of the mountain gorillas. The park is neighboring the districts of kabala district and mgahinga district the park was gazetted in the early years and was named the impenetrable since it was hard for anyone to penetrate through the thick rain forest. The park has amazing fauna and flora. The park harbors the anonymous mountain gorillas, few monkeys there are several bird species recorded in this park
The park has sections among which are Ruhija which are in Kanungu Buhoma Nkuringo and Rushaga sectors which are located in kisoro.
ACCESSING BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST.
Bwindi is accessible by road from Kampala to Bwindi you will drive through Kampala kabala road and proceed to Bwindi which will take you about 10-12 hours to reach your destination. The journey all way is amazing with a lot of natural beauties is not missing the amazing and hospitable local people.
You can also access Bwindi through chattering a flight to the destination.
TOUR ACTIVITIES
You can engage in quite a number of activities during your visit to Bwindi impenetrable national park. The most famous activity engaged in at this destination is gorilla trekking.
Bwindi has quite a number of habituated gorilla groups or you can call them families. These families tend to have ranks like a human family where you find the head being the father in this case the head is a silverback gorilla; there are male and female gorilla sand babies too. Gorilla families are given names so as to be able to identify them. These gorilla families are distributed among the different sectors of the park. Among which are these families: Mubare, katwe, Nshongi, Christmas, Nyarugongo, Rushegura, Bweza, Kahungye among others.
You can also engage in activities like bird watching where Bwindi holds about 357 bird species among which you are to find African green broadbill, bee-eaters, Red-faced woodland, white-tailed crested flycatcher.
